Ham and Potato chowder

In the winter time or really anytime I love to make recipes in the crock pot! It's so easy I just dump the ingredients inside and I trust my crock pot to do the rest of the work.

After a long day it's really nice to come home to dinner all done. The Crock pot is basically like a big stove. A lot of the recipes you make on the stove you can easily convert into a recipe for the crock pot! If you have any recipes you would like me to convert for you, let me know.
Ham and potato chowder: 


Ingredients:
1 onion, chopped
3 tablespoons all purpose flour
3 cups milk
1 cup water
21/2 cups diced potatoes, about 4
1 cup chicken broth
pepper to taste
3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 cups fully cooked ham, diced

Directions:
Put crock pot on high and melt 11/2 tablespoon of butter, saute the onions till translucent. Stir in flour till blended. Add milk, water, potatoes, ham, chicken broth, pepper, and cheese.

This recipe came out tasting great, the flavor was really amazing. I will be making this again.

Cheesy Crock pot Macaroni & cheese

Cheesy Crock Pot macaroni & cheese

Ingredients:
3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 1/2 cups milk
12 oz evaporated milk
8 ounces cream cheese
16 ounces elbow macaroni

Directions:
1. Boil macaroni in a pot for 4 minutes, strain.
2. Pour all ingredients into crock pot.
3. Leave on low for 2-3 hours.

Tips:
You can add any extras into the crock pot, such as ham, bacon, cooked spam. I would add salt and pepper to this dish.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

This chicken and dumplings recipe is amazing. I love that it's thicker than most, the condensed cream of chicken soup makes a big difference!
Ingredients: 
2 boneless chicken breasts
2 tablespoons of butter
1 can condensed cram of chicken soup
1/2 onion, finely diced salt and pepper to taste
1/2 bag of frozen mixed vegetables
water
make dumplings: I use ingredients on side of Bisquick mix.

Directions:
put the chicken breasts inside the slow cooker and top each breast with butter, then sprinkle salt and pepper. In a separate bowl mix together the cream of chicken soup with diced onions and mixed vegetables. Then pour cream of chicken soup mixture over chicken, then add just enough water to cover the chicken, add less water for thicker soup. Cover and cook on high 4-5 hours. You can also use refrigerated biscuits: just cut each biscuit into 4 pieces and place on top of food, for the last hour of cooking.


Slow Cooker Cube Steak

My favorite thing is to throw ingredients in the crockpot and when I come home I have a delicious meal. I'm going to share with you some of my favorite recipes, and I'll share more as my family tries them.
Slow cooker cube steak recipe:
servings: depends on how many cube steaks you use
prep time: 5 minutes
cooking time: 5-6 hours on high, 6-8 hours on low.
From experience: I cooked it for 12 hours and it came out super tender.

Ingredients:
cube steaks- one for each family member
1 large can of condensed cream of mushroom soup or 2 small cans
1/2 packet dry french onion soup

Directions:
spoon about half of cream of mushroom soup in bottom of slow cooker place cube steaks in put remaining cream of mushroom soup in and 1/2 packet of dry french onion soup cook on low for up to 12 hours or on high for 5-6 hours

Suggestion: 
you could serve with baked bread butter toast with somewhat melted butter and put on baking sheet, put in oven on 350 degrees and broil till lightly browned
